In 2013/14 the NHS Acute Trusts and CCG’s spent £3.7B on services it bought in from the private sector. Most of this (20%) was on Pharmacy Services. 18% was on Acute Services (the sorts of hospital care services that the likes of Bupa, BMI, Ramsay, Spire and Nuffield provide). This chart shows you how the rest of the £3.7B was spent.
